MUSIC THEORY COURSES
Like anything, to become a great musician, you need to have a great foundation. This is a ten week course covering Grade 1 AMEB music theory is a great way to get started and have a broad and strong understanding about music and all that makes it. Learn the language of music!
Beginners Courses - Grade 1 and 2
- Notes, the staff, treble and bass Clefs
- Bars and bar lines, note duration
- Note grouping and dotted notes
- Tones and semitones
- Major scales, Minor scales, Intervals and Octaves
- Key signatures and time signatures
- Semibreves, minims, crotchets, quarvers, rests
- Scales and keys
- Sharps, flats, naturals and accidentals
- Ties and slurs
- Chords
- Transpostion
- Simple and compound time, triplets
- Binary and ternary Form
- Signs and terms
- Rhythm and rhythm clapping and Aural Theory
Class duration: 60 minutes.

Private casual classes in Music Theory are $50.00 per class, however a 68% discount applies if you enroll for a Music Theory Course and pay in full in advance.

All students will need to obtain the following text book in your prescribed level of study:
Recommended retail price: $17.00
You will also need to bring a pen, eraser, sharpener and manuscript (music paper).
